The Chicago Blackhawks and Los Angeles Kings went head to head sunday afternoon. Aside from it being hockey night in America, this game meant much more for Los Angeles, After the Hawks destroyed the Kings on opening day. The Hawks got off to a quick start scoring twice in the first period. It took until the third for the Kings to find their scoring. But the Hawks proved strong winning again 3-2.
The story of todays game was Chicago getting a point in all 15 games this season. The player of todays game was Patrick Sharp, not only did Sharp get a 2nd period goal, but was all over the ice today with his good defense and found many chances to score. Chicago gave up 2 powerplay goals today which was very abnormal, but killed off 2. The scored one powerplay goal in 5 chances. Ray Emery has showed hes ready to jump in for Corey Crawford winning again today, and is undefeated on the season. The Hawks got goals from Seabrook, Toews, and Sharp.
The Kings are off to a slow start this season, losing again today. The Kings got both goals on the powerplay today, and they were both scored by Mike Richards in the 3rd. Quick got the loss again today, but looked strong today stopping all shots for nearly 2 periods. The Kings have really struggled this season starting 5-5-2, which after the Stanley Cup winning season last year is really disappointing.
The Blackhawks take on Vancouver Tuesday, and look to continue this streak. They loom to welcome in the rivalry, especially after the Canucks handed the Hawks a shootout loss this season.
