On this date in Chicago Blackhawks history,

On February 20, 1944 at Chicago Stadium, The Chicago Blackhawks and Toronto Maple Leafs played a “perfect game”.

The contest ended in a 0-0 tie and both team not only failed to score, but not a single penalty was called in the scoreless game. The Blackhawks ended the season with a 22-23-5 record but upset the Detroit Red Wings in the first round of the playoffs.  The Blackhawks were then swept by the Montreal Canadians in the Stanley Cup Finals.

A perfect game must have been boring but it occurred on this date 69 years ago today.
