Season Series– This is the first of three meetings this season between the two teams.
Preview– Colorado lost Tuesday night 2-1 to the Detroit Red Wings. The Avalanche have lost 5 out of 6 games and surely don’t look like a franchise that is ready to ride into Chicago and stop the Hawks historic point streak. Paul Stastny is one of the few Colorado players playing well right now having scored twice in the last three games.
The Blackhawks are playing great hockey and are getting production from every player on their roster including Tuesday night getting two goals from Bryan Bickell and goals from Brandon Saad, Marian Hossa, and Patrick Kane. The Hawks have shown the ability so far this season to play any style that their opposition wants to play and come out on the right side of the score. The Hawks are becoming a national story which to some can become a distraction or a burden to carry. This is a pretty young team so exhaustion whether it physical or mental should not be a worry but eventually the goal has to shift from a point streak to playing the best possible hockey come the Stanley Cup playoffs.
These kind of streaks are a once in a lifetime event so let’s enjoy every minute of it Hawks fans!!!
Prediction– The Hawks roll to a pretty easy victory 5-2 at the United Center.
