Game #25– Chicago Blackhawks (21-0-3) vs Colorado Avalanche (8-10-4)
Game Time– 8pm Central Time
TV– NHL Network, CSN-Chicago
Radio-WGN Radio
Season Series– The Hawks lead 1-0 after Wednesday’s come from behind 3-2 victory at the United Center
Preview– Wednesday night the Avalanche out played the Hawks for much of the contest but left the Windy City with nothing for their efforts. Matt Duchene played a very good game which included a goal. The AV’s had the Hawks on the ropes but weren’t able to finish them off even though Semyon Varlamov played strong stopping 29 out of 32 shots. With the game shifting to Denver look for the Avalanche to gain confidence from their efforts in Chicago. Colorado was very disciplined Wednesday night while taking a conservative approach which led to the game being tied all the way into the final minute.
Chicago’s worst worry started to show it’s ugly head when both Andrew Shaw and Patrick Sharp left the game with injuries which followed the suprising news right before the game that Marian Hossa wouldn’t dress for the contest. The Hawks depth showed up at just the right time when Daniel Carcillo netted his first goal of the season which was the game winner. The Hawks are starting to trail a lot in games (6 out of last 8) but finding ways to get back into the games late just in time to to collect wins. The Hawks have so many streaks and streaks within the streaks but as most Hawks fans would agree only one thing matters at the end of the day and that is hoisting the Cup in June, but everyone will sure enjoy this magical ride at the point streak has provided.
Prediction– The Hawks usually struggle in the thin air a mile high up, but this isn’t your ordinary Hawks teams so look for something unexpected like a Dave Bolland hat trick and a 6-1 win with a Hawks avalanche of goals tonight!
