Game #27 Chicago Blackhawks (21-2-3) vs Columbus Blue Jackets (10-12-5)
Game Time-6:00pm Central Time
TV– CSN Chicago, FSN-Ohio
Radio-WGN
Season Series– Blackhawks lead 2-0 with a pair of one goal victories.
Preview– It’s hard to believe but the hottest team in the Central division is the Columbus Blue Jackets who are 5-0-1 in their last six games. The hot streak central figure is goalie Sergi Bobrovsky who was the #1 NHL star of the week going 4-0-0 with a .972 Save % and a .072 Goals Against Average. On Tuesday night Bobrovsky only gave up one goal against the Vancouver Canucks before losing in a shoot-out. The real question for the Blue Jackets is how many moves will their GM make before the trade deadline and will their current hot streak change any of the decision making.
The Blackhawks had the look of a tired team heading into this past weekends back to back losses and finally received a break in the schedule with three straight days off. The Hawks need to get back to what got them all those victories and that is a hard working unit working together for one goal. Both Corey Crawford and Ray Emery have started the last two games only not to finish them so a solid effort in goal would also be a good start. The Hawks still haven’t won in the second half of the season so going to Columbus and playing on the road where they win with regularity may be just what the doctor ordered.
Prediction– The Hawks will win a one goal game 3-2.
