Season Series– This is the third and final meeting with the teams splitting games with each team winning on home ice.

Preview- The record setting beginning of the season point streak came to an end in Denver the last time the Hawks came to visit. The Hawks had a terrible 2nd period and they weren’t able to overcome it. Colorado has followed the Hawks win by going an unimpressive 1-3. While losing three straight the Avalanche have given up 15 goals which should be big concern for the Av’s since the Hawks are coming off an 8 goal performance.  The star of the show has to be Matt Duchene who has 5 goals and 6 assists in his last 5 games and he really was able to show his skills in the two contests with the Hawks. Duchene will need another big outing if the Av’s are to give a repeat performance on Monday night in the Mile High City.

The Hawks played their best offensive game in years. A little R&R does wonders and the Hawks had a jump in their skate that the Stars never were able to match.  Jonathan Toews and Marian Hossa both had two goal efforts while every defenseman seemed to bee in the middle of almost every scoring play.  The highlight of the night was Patrick Kane going Denis Savard on the Stars, but the thing I really like is that the tandem of Bryan Bickell and Viktor Stalberg assisted on 3 goals together.  The Hawks played hard and everyone was involved! Ray Emery gets the start tonight and it would be nice to see him get back on track after a rough outing in his last appearance against the Edmonton Oilers.

Prediction-The Hawks won’t score 8 goals but with Avalanche having given them one of two blemishes on the record so look for the Hawks to be extremely focused in a 5-2 Hawks victory.
