Game #30– Chicago Blackhawks (24-2-3) at Anaheim Ducks (21-3-4)

Game time– 9pm Central

TV-NHLN, CSN-Chicago, FS-W

Radio-WGN

Season Series– The Ducks beat the Blackhawks 3-2 in a shootout on February 12th.

Preview– The Ducks have been able to fly under the radar this season  for the most part due to the Hawks great start with a great start to the season on their own. The Ducks are currently on a 11 game point streak but they face the toughest part of their schedule with Chicago, Detroit and San Jose on the horizon.  The good news out of Ducks camp is that Corey Perry signed an extension for 8 years and a whole lot of millions.  The Ducks are extemely balanced scoring team with 11 different skaters with at least 5 goals for the season. As amazing as the Hawks start has been the Ducks are only 5 points behind them in the standings for first in the Western Conference so tonight could be a pivotal matchup for the #1 seed in the West.

The Hawks after some rest are on a role offensively scoring 13 goals in the last two games. Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane are still the highlights of each game but the secret of winning all the games is that everyone is working hard on a nightly basis on every line. There is accountability too on the team as Coach Joel Quenneville sat down Brent Seabrook for over 1/2 of the second period after getting blown by shorthanded on Gabriel Landskog’s short=handed goal. Jimmy Hayes has filled in nicely for Patrick Sharp while he’s out with a shoulder injury which included a goal Monday night.

Prediction– This is an arena the Hawks never play well at and the Ducks are out to prove a point. The Hawks will get at least a point in this one in overtime whether they get the second point will be up to them in O.T.
