Blackhawks Make A Trade…A Very Minor Trade

There was no Derek Roy, Jaromir Jagr, or Ryane Clowe being mentioned with the Chicago Blackhawks and trades on Tuesday the day before the trade deadline. The Blackhawks however did make a pretty minor trade with the Tampa Lightning.
The Hawks traded Philippe Paradis (a former first round pick of the Carolina Panthers) to the Lightning for the rights to Cornell defenseman Krill Gotovets. Gotovets had a good +rating at 22 this past season for Cornell.
For those looking for the silver lining in this trade is that this trade gives the Hawks 49 players under contract with the NHL maximum 50. This move gives the Hawks the room to trade on Wednesday’s trade deadline without moving any of their current players. Yes this is a Hail Mary look at how the Hawks are going to make a deal on Wednesday but everyone knows a Hail Mary scores every once in a while!
The Hawks only have hours now to put any final pieces together for the upcoming Stanley Cup playoffs!
