This is not the defining moment of the season for the Hawks, but it is on the 2013 To Do List for the Chicago Blackhawks! Fast Start, Playoffs spot and division champ are now all crossed off the list that ends with Win Stanley Cup.
With the Blues loss to Columbus and the Hawks getting at least a point, the Blackhawks clinched the last ever Central Division Championship. It is the 15th division title in Blackhawks history and the first since 2009-2010 and we all remember how that season ended.
The title clincher couldn’t have come against a better opponent than the Detroit Red Wings.
Yes, there is a long road left ahead of the Blackhawks, but with this being the last season of the Central Division as we know it, the victory and title seems a little more sweeter!
