The Chicago Blackhawk went 4-0 while the Detroit Red Wings went 0-1-3 in their four meetings in this shortened season of 2013. Here is a quick rewind of the four matchups.
January 27th United Center. Chicago-2 Detroit-1
Duncan Keith blow up Jimmy Howards water bottle and Nick Leddy scored in overtime for the Blackhawks victory very early into the streak.
March 3rd Joe Louis Arena- Chicago-2 Detroit-1 OT Shootout
April 12 United Center- Chicago-3 Detroit-2 OT Shoot-out
This victory clinched the final Central Divisional title for the Blackhawks as again they came back from a one goal deficit late in the third to tie the game with the Captain providing the goal. The shootout winner went to Brandon Saad but in the end it was the Hawks going undefeated agiainst their old nemesis in the regular season.
What can we take away from these four meetings, probably that every game of this series is going to be extremely close with games going to overtime. The Hawks will need to play great hockey to beat their rival and get outstanding work in net by Corey Crawford to advance to the Western Conference Finals.
