This isn’t really a surprise is it? The Vegas odds are out for the 2014 Stanley Cup Champion and even with what we witnessed, the Penguins were swept out of the playoffs and yet even Vegas loves them for the 2014 Stanley Cup.  The best part of the future odds business is that the Penguins were the favorite to win the 2013 Stanley Cup and well that didn’t work out very well did it!

If you’re Dale Tallon and the Florida Panthers you can’t possibly like being not only dead last but the only team with a 150/1 odd. 2nd to last is the Calgary Flames that are in total rebuilding mode at 100/1.

The Chicago Blackhawks are second favorite behind the Penguins at 7/1 followed by the Boston Bruins at 10/1 and then of all teams the St. Louis Blues at 12/1! The Blues at fourth has to be the most surprising thing on the list! Maybe the odds are against them playing the Kings in the playoffs in 2014!

Here is the list

Pittsburgh Penguin-13/2

Chicago Blackhawks 7/1

Boston Bruins-10/1

St Louis Blues-12/1

The odds makers do think that the Western Conference will be the tougher conference with 6 out of 9 Western Conference teams at the top of the list. What do you think? Why does everyone love the Penguins.  Yes this is just for fun with the real victory being able to  watch the Hawks hoist the Cup in Boston!
