They faced the Montreal Canadiens and for the second straight season they upset the heavily favored Canadiens 4-2 by winning four straight games after digging an 0-2 hole.  The Hawks faced the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1962 Stanley Cup Finals, but they couldn’t work their magic one more time going down 0-2 and this time fell in the Finals 4-2 and were not able to repeat as Champions.
