60 Days Until Banner Raising (Photshop by Joe Kremel)

#58- No Current players wear jersey #58

Two former Blackhawks have worn #58 with both of them wearing the number very briefly

1. Ivan Droppa was the first Blackhawk to wear #58 but it was only 21 games.  Droppa  collected 1 assist in his brief Blackhawks career.

2. P.A. Parenteau wore #58 for five games in the 2006-2007 season. He only recorded one assist with a -1 rating.  Parenteau made it back to the NHL in 2009 with the New York Rangers, then moving across the Island to the New York Islanders for two more and is currently on the roster of the new division rivals Colorado Avalanche.

1957-1958 Chicago Blackhawks

Record-24-39-7

Goals-Ed Litzenberger-32

Assists- Bobby Hull-34

Penalty Minutes-Ted Lindsay-110

Wins- Glen Hall-29

The Blackhawks didn’t finish in last place in 58 but they didn’t make the playoffs either.  They did get a glimpse at greatness with Bobby Hull arriving in the NHL and although he 15 goals and 39 assists he didn’t win the Calder trophy (finishing 2nd to Frank Mahovlich of Toronto Maple Leafs) The foundation was being laid for the 1961 Championship.

#58 All-time in Blackhawks points is Curt Fraser who played 303 games with the Blackhawks from 1982-1988. Fraser scored 94 goals and 120 assists in his time with the Blackhawks. Fraser was traded to the Minnesota North Stars for future Blackhawks Captain Dirk Graham in 1988.

58 short days until another Stanley Cup banner heads to the rafters of the United Center.
