With the Chicago Blackhawks 2013-2014 season about to start up we are looking forward to a great season, and with the season and an Olympic break thrown in there will be tons of news coming out of Chicago Blackhawks camp, and the more people on our staff the better to get the news reported the better for our site so we have this opening on our staff.

Basically, if you’re available to monitor the news via Twitter and other social media and able to put together a couple of quick posts during the weekdays, this is an ideal opening to get your foot in the door in online sports media.  This is an entry-level position and while there is no pay, candidates that perform well will always be considered for paying gigs within the FanSided Network.

Applicants should be available to cover 3-4 hour shifts during the day/evening and should have a solid command of the English language.

Skills Require:

-Strong use of grammar, punctuation and sentence structure
-Basic understanding of SEO (search engine optimization) but we can help with this

-Monitor relevant team news outlets during your shift, including Twitter and Facebook
-Recognize news-worthy information and provide a short, informative news post to the site (200-300 words, in and out)
-Continue to monitor team news throughout your shift and follow up on any stories until your shift is over
-Provide at least one post during your shift

With the start of the regular season right around the corner, we’re always looking for opinionated and well informed Blackhawks fans to join the team as staff writers and columnists.  If you have Blackhawks thoughts and can consistently produce at least one weekly post, you might be right for our team.

The other position we are looking to fill is the a person to cover the Rockford Ice Hogs during their season in the AHL.

If the news desk, regular contributor, or the voice of the Rockford Ice Hogs interests you please send an email to with the Subject Line: Help Wanted. I will get back to you as soon as i possibly can!
