Today is the last day of the Blackhawks stay at Notre Dame for the start of training camp.  The Notre Dame experience sounds pretty good and something the Blackhawks might be doing more in the future for training camp.  Here is some quick thoughts about Day #4 of the Blackhawks training camp.

-Jonathan Toews didn’t participate in the scrimmage again today.  Yes, it is extremely early in training camp so there should be absolutely nothing to worry about, but if you are a worry wart nothing is worse than an injury that lingers for an extended period of time.

– Brandon Pirri who is fighting for the #2 center position was not seen in either of the Sunday’s scrimmages.

– Jeremy Morin who should be on the opening day roster scored twice during the morning scrimmage. Morin was assisted by Andrew Shaw on the goals and this could make for a great 3rd line pairing with Brandon Saad!Morin can score and throw his body around which would make for a new great 3rd line to replace last season’s Bryan Bickell-Andrew Shaw-Viktor Stalberg line.

-Jimmy Hayes matched Morin’s 2 goals with 2 of his own in the early session! Hayes skating has improved and with his size could make for a more offensively talented 4th line guy instead of Brandon Bollig.

-Teuvo Teravainen replaced Jonathan Toews during scrimmages and played between Patrick Kane and Bryan Bickell and according to everyone fit it nicely, and he scored a goal in the second scrimmage.

-Maxim Shalunov also scored two goals in the early session and that could possibly be his only mention of the year!

-Both Patrick Kane and Patrick Sharp scored on breakaways so they are already in mid-season form.

-That’s it from Notre Dame next stop is the Blackhawks Training Festival Tomorrow Night!
