The Blackhawks play their 2nd preseason game of the season tonight against the Pittsburgh Penguins at 7pm.

-Marian Hossa will not make his first preseason appearance tonight against the Penguins, and will most likely miss the rest of the preseason.

-The Blackhawks will be without Jonathan Toews tonight as he continues to recover from a lower body injury.

-The Penguins didn’t send Evgeni Malkin to Chicago for tonight’s contest.

-Sidney Crosby will be in Chicago and on the ice, it’s been a while since he’s played at the United Center

-The player making the biggest splash so far has been Jimmy Hayes who is trying to cement his spot for a 3rd line wing.

-Another player to watch for is Jeremy Morin who like Hayes is looking to solidify a regular spot in the lineup for the Hawks. Both Morin and Hayes had assists Tuesday night.

-Of course there is real excitement of having Teuvo Teravainen on TV tonight! He struggled early at faceoffs but improved throughout the game against the Detroit Red Wings.  Get a glimpse of #23 now before he heads back to Finland.

-The last thing to watch for is special teams.  Look who is on the penalty kill and see if the Hawks try anything different on the powerplay that was beyond silent Tuesday night.

-Here is a look at tonight’s rosters

The action starts tonight at 7pm at the United Center! Only 12 days left until these games really count!!
