To say that I’m thankful that the hockey season is about to start would be a gross understatement.  I’ve been on the verge of losing my mind since the second the cup parade ended and the realization that I’ve officially entered the barren void known as the offseason hit me.  After watching pretty much every hockey movie out there, including repetitions of “Goon” three times a week for months, I was rewarded with training camp and preseason games.  I had the training camp game on as I cooked, and I came to the realization that I love the sounds of hockey.  You can hear every tape to tape pass.  The clang of a puck off the post provokes so much emotion.  A race for the puck that ends with skates scraping off a layer of ice gives such a distinct sound.  Hockey simply seems to have all the right elements to make it an amazing and immersing sport.  So then I started to wonder, do others out there love the sport of hockey so much that even the sounds of the game elicit an emotional response?  So, I came here to get your opinions.  What’s your favorite hockey sound?
