#4: Mikko Koivu

Mikko Koivu has taken a backseat on offense in recent years for the Minnesota Wild, The Wild underwent a significant facelift in the last few seasons, and the 30-year old Finnish forward has found himself in a smaller role than he was five years ago. With offensive names like Zach Parise, Mikael Granlund, and young guns such as Charlie Coyle, Koivu is able to use his veteran knowledge to lead the team. The 2001 first-round draft pick scored 37 points in the 2013 regular season, but was commonly left out of the conversation as the catalyst for the Wild’s run to the playoffs. With more off-season additions this summer, Koivu looks to provide the same amount of consistency over the longer, 82-game season.
