The picture really sums up why Probert was so popular with the team. Though his stay as a Blackhawk was shorter than most on this list, and though he did play most of his career with the rival Red Wings, Probert’s time on the Blackhawks was spectacular. The ‘Hawks hadn’t had an enforcer quite like Probert and the fans gravitated towards him immediately. It saddens me that he is no longer with us, but I have faith that Probert is spending his time picking fights with Gordie Howe in their weekly pickup game.

Oh Captain, My Captain! The fans love everything about Toews and each year he gives them more reasons to fall at his feet. The captain does everything that needs to be done on the ice and while his popularity is growing rapidly, I don’t know if he has overtaken the only current member of the team that is higher on this list. If things keep going the way they are, I think Toews could end up as the most popular ‘Hawk of the 21st century.

He may look different below (being inducted in the US Hockey Hall of Fame), but Amonte was the fastest guy on the face of the earth, or at least I believed so. I was pretty sure he could skate faster than the road runner could… well, run. Amonte was one of the most dynamic goal scorers in all of Blackhawks history and fans remember him for his beautiful finishes, his constant 2nd place finish at the skills competitions, and his glorious locks of hair.
