Poll: How Long Will Michal Handzus Hold Down The Fort?

By Keith Schultz

Jun 19, 2013; Boston, MA, USA; Chicago Blackhawks center Michal Handzus (26) scores a goal past Boston Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask (40) during the first period in game four of the 2013 Stanley Cup Final at TD Garden. Mandatory Credit: Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

Since the 2010 Stanley Cup was won the biggest question surrounding the Blackhawks has to be (besides the powerplay) who will be the 2nd line center.  The Blackhawks have tried Marcus Kruger for a season, tried to switch Patrick Kane, and last season tried Dave Bolland all with very suspect statistics.  Last season Michal Handzus came to the team late at the trading deadline and took over the 2nd line center in the playoffs.

Handzus scored a couple of the biggest goals of the post-season, but there was some struggle with Handzus on many nights especially playing with players with speed like Patrick Sharp.

Training camp 2013 came and is now gone and Michal Handzus hasn’t played in one game and has only taken a few practices and yet Brandon Saad experiment failed and Brandon Pirri’s camp injury hurt his process. So when opening night finally happens #26 will be back at the 2nd line center spot.

There is no way Handzus plays a full 82 games, and to me the real question is how long does Handzus hold down the fort until someone steps up for the coveted position?

Here is today’s poll question!
