Though he doesn’t suit and take the ice, goalie coach Stephane Waite has had a tremendous impact on the ice for the Chicago Blackhawks. Waite was named the ‘Hawks goaltender coach during the 2003-2004 season and played a large role in the development of current goalie Corey Crawford. Waite has moved on to mentor another talented goalie in the Montreal Canadiens Carey Price, and we will see if his departure affects Crawford, who will be under a lot of scrutiny after signing his mammoth extension this offseason. (P.S. Former Waite protege Anti Niemi is still doing fine in San Jose.)
