It’s a shame that “Big Game Ray” is not returning this year, and it is a double shame to not see him starting the opener in Philadelphia. I have always been a favorite of Emery and him leaving the team makes a lot of sense for himself, as he wanted the opportunity for a full-time starting gig. Will we miss Emery that much? I think we will have our moments where we doubt signing Nikolai Khabibulin and wishing we still had Emery on our bench, but at the end of the day, I don’t think he would’ve stayed in Chicago. I wish Ray Emery the best of luck with his new digs in Philadelphia and I am sure many ‘Hawks fans will miss him on nights where Crawford has to sit in the locker room to count his stacks of hard-earned cash.
