Michal Handzus barely found the scoresheet on Saturday night
Handzus stat line- 0 goals 0 assists 0 +/-rating 1 hit and although he was 7/14 on faceoffs , he was only 2/6 after the first period.
Handzus has already been given a maintenance day to miss practice this past week, and he was not a factor on Saturday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The bigger factor that Handzus was missing most of the game Saturday is the stat line of his line mates Patrick Sharp and Marian Hossa also had nothing but goose eggs after their names.
The most noticeable thing on most rushes is that Sharp and Hossa are always far ahead of Handzus on the attack on most plays. Yes, in the Joel Quenneville thinking one has to be defensive responsible, but this team is built on speed, passing, and skill and Handzus is really missing the speed part. The slow part of the opening part of the season is almost over with the Hawks playing 5 games in 8 nights when their super slow start to the season gets in full gear Wednesday night in St. Louis.
Whatever reason Q dislikes Brandon Pirri isn’t it time to free him from Rockford? Anyways if not we will more than likely seeing Handzus on the milk carton more times than not on a regular basis. What do you think? Who was your Blackhawks Milk Carton Player of the game?
