Jeremy Morin made his 2013-2014 season debut last night against the Minnesota Wild after playing 8 games in the AHL for the Rockford IceHogs. Morin stats for his first game were no goals or assists with a +1 rating with 3 shots and 4 hits.
Morin didn’t get an assist on the Bryan Bickell goal, but he made the key keep on the play that set up the Blackhawks first goal of the night even though Nick Leddy and Michal Rozsival picked up the assists on the goal.
Morin was part of the only controversial play of the night when he shot a puck that Backstrom stopped, but the puck went high and Andrew Shaw hit with a high-stick, but the puck and the Wild’s defenseman ended up in the net. Even though it was a good goal on the ice, Toronto reversed the decision.
Morin threw his body around and made an impression although he only saw the ice for 10:32 mostly because of the 12 penalty called and the endless amount of powerplays.
Morin may play a little reckless and he made blind back pass that caused a Wild rush, I thought he played very well and he showed that the call up from Rockford was the right move by Stan Bowman.
Here is a poll to see what everyone else thought of Morin’s first game even though it didn’t end up with a Win.
