Chicago Blackhawks’ Three Stars Of Week #4

First Star: Patrick Kane

Patrick Kane wasn’t at his highest level offensively this week, but it was more than enough to get the job done. Kane dressed in all three games for the ‘Hawks, scoring 4 points (2 G, 2 A). Kane was the victim of a lineup shuffle midway through the week, when he and Jonathan Toews were split up in favor of garnering more defensive responsibility. Of course, that did not happen against the Wild, and you could expect to see the two of them together again soon. Despite offensive production, Kane was a -6 in only two games, as the defense struggled to pull their weight this week. In the neutral ice, however, Kane was dynamite, averaging 3 takeaways between the 3 contests. Kane won’t need to improve anything in the days that come, but when the rest of the team gets back to normal, he will benefit.

The Blackhawks look for revenge against the Wild on the road tonight: you can view the game on CSN-Chicago. They face the Ottawa Senators tomorrow, and take the rest of the week off before games against the Winnipeg Jets and Calgary Flames on Saturday and Sunday.
