Chicago Blackhawks:What’s On Tap This Week? (Photoshop by Joe Kremel
The week starts out with a boom then there is nothing until Saturday night with three days off for the Blackhawks.
The quick start to the week starts tonight in the Twin Cities when the Blackhawks complete the home and home weekend with the Minnesota Wild. The Wild won rather easily Saturday night at the United Center in a 5-3 win. The Blackhawks have given up 11 goals in the past two games so expect the Hawks to tighten up the defensive screws in Minnesota Monday night. The Blackhawks have not opened up well against the Central Division going 0-2-1 to start the season so look for a huge effort tonight.
The Blackhawks play back to back games to start the week with the Ottawa Senators stopping by the United Center on Tuesday night. This will be the first visit by the Senators to Chicago since January 7,2011. The Senators are missing their long time captain Daniel Alfredsson, but they did exorcise his demons when they went to his new home Detroit and defeated them 6-1 last week. The Senators currently sit in 6th place of their new Atlantic Division with a record of 4-5-2, but with the Hawks having the defending Stanley Cup Champion on their title always expect the teams best efforts.
The Blackhawks don’t play a game Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, but they head to Winnipeg on Saturday night for another divisional contest against some old friends. The Jets after a decent start have slid back to being the Jets with a record of 5-6-2. With Dustin Byfuglien and Andrew Ladd on the ice for the opposition look for a lot of 2010 Stanley Cup talk on Saturday night. The Hawks along with Monday night need to win these divisional battles against the Jets.
What game are you looking forward to the most this week?
