5. Steve Yzerman
Don’t recognize him in the suit? Lord knows I do. Throughout the 1990’s and early 2000’s few teams dominated the ‘Hawks much like their bitter rivals the Detroit Red Wings. Yzerman was the focal point for many of those Red Wings teams, and while he did have help from superstar players such as Sergei Federov and Nicklas Lidstrom, it was Yzerman’s presence that irked me the most. It seemed that whenever a big play was needed, Yzerman was always in the middle of it exhibiting a lunch pail mentality that may have only been present during these rivalry match-ups. Pair that with the fact that Yzerman happens to look like 1980 USS Boris Mikhailov and Yzerman is a menacing concoction that instilled fear into Blackhawks fans for over a decade.
