As expected Antti Raanta is headed to Chicago to replace the injured Nikolai Khabibulin as the Chicago Blackhawks back up goalie.
Raanta had a 7-5 record with the Rockford Ice Hogs with a .914 save percentage and a 2.83 goals against average. Khabibulin was injured late in the first period with an apparent groin pull and it didn’t look like he would be back for a while.
After the game last night Joel Quenneville said Khabibulin would be out for “a bit”, and this moved validates that notion for Quenneville. Khabibulin is notorious for taking his time to get back to the ice after an injury.
What do you think? Will the Hawks try to make this a permanent move and try to move Khabibulin or is this temporary until Khabibulin his healthy again.
