On this date in Chicago Blackhawks history,

On November 22, 1970 at Chicago Stadium the Chicago Blackhawks shut out the California Seals 9-0.  In that game Blackhawks legend Bobby Hull collected his 25th career hat trick while wearing the Blackhawks uniform.

The number of hat tricks that Bobby Hull and long time teammate Stan Mikita collected during their Hawks career is mind boggling.  Hull during his career had 24 3 goal games and 4 4goal games while Mikita had 11 hat tricks and 2 4 goal games.  To put that in prospective the current active hat trick leaders for the Hawks are Jonathan Toews and Patrick Sharp with 2 hat tricks a piece.

The game was more wide open in the old days and the goalies had a lot less equipment on and were quite a bit smaller back in the 60’s and 70’s, but hitting a milestone of 25 career hat tricks is still a huge moment that will probably never be duplicated in Chicago Blackhawks history. Here is a video from a 4 goal game by Hull in 1967

Bobby Hull’s 25th hat trick happened on this date 43 years ago today!
