Marian Hossa scratched tonight

Marian Hossa scratched tonight

Coming into this season there was some concern about Marian Hossa. He was 35 years old coming a back injury her sustained during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. He has been often injured with the Blackhawks.  He has only played over 60 games once with the Blackhawks and played 40 games last season.

Some believed that Hossa might not be ready to start the season. Hossa was indeed ready to start the season and did not need offseason surgery to repair his back. Hossa would get off to a slow start, but he has come on as of late with his new line mates of Patrick Sharp and Jonathan Toews.

That was until he was injured again. Hossa sat out against The San Jose Sharks and the Colorado Avalanche with a lower body injury.

Hossa would return with a vengeance against the Winnipeg Jets. He recorded one goal and one assist against the Jets.

Hossa has been scratched from tonight’s game for personal reasons. Tonight scratch aside, the Blackhawks should sit Hossa until he is 100% healthy. This play two games and sit for two games is not good for the team

Winning games in November are inconsequential to games in April. Hossa healthy is key to the Blackhawks title defense. His health is especially important because of the Olympic Break this season.

The bottom line is this Hossa needs to be 100% healthy come April and Blackhawks SHOULD know that.
