Patrick Kane gets the puck to Andrew Shaw who ties up the game 1-1.
The Blackhawks looked like they were just going to have one of those games where they do almost everything right and still lose. Then in a flash the Hawks score two in 9 seconds. The first goal was about as perfect of a setup you can get. Shaw is in front of the net, Toews is backdoor, and Kaner is drawing the defense over and then gettin the puck to the net. If Shaw misses that puck it’s still going in, it would just be Toews getting the goal. Kaner keeps his point streak alive!
Marcus Kruger skates in on a 2 on 1 and puts it five hole on Luongo giving the Hawks a 2-1 lead.
Ben Smith starts this play up with some great hard work to get it up to Kruger. The Blackhawks were passing more than they should have been, and maybe that is what caught Luongo off guard on this goal. Not to take anything away from Kruger, he placed that shot perfectly between the wickets. This game was rather dull, at least for a rivalry game, until the third period. Glad the Blackhawks finished this one in regulation and skated off with two points in hand.
