The Chicago Blackhawks Trade Kyle Beach!

By Sean Fitzgerald

The Chicago Blackhawks announced a trade: Kyle Beach to the New York Rangers for Brandon Mashinter. Mashinter had appeared in six games with the Rangers this season. He posted three shots on goal and 10 penalty minutes in his six game stint.  Mashiner has appeared in 11 games for the Rangers AHL affiliate the Hartford Wolf pack. Mashinter had signed with the Rangers this offseason.  He will be assigned to the Rockkford Ice Hogs.

Beach who was the first round pick (11) of the Blackhawks in the 2008 draft had fallen out favor with the organization. Beach was a restricted free agent this offseason and signed a one year deal with Blackhawks. The Blackhawks had placed Beach on waivers after training camp. After clearing waivers, Beach was loaned out to HV71 in the Finnish elite league for a month to start this season.  Beach would return to Rockford Ice Hogs following his stint in Finland. Beach had his best game of his Ice hogs career against the Chicago Wolves last Friday 10/29/13. He recorded a hat trick against the Wolves in a 4-3 victory for the Ice Hogs.

Beach will viewed as a disappointment in Chicago because he never reached the NHL level.  Last season with the Ice Hogs Beach appeared in 66 games, recording 26 points (16 goals and 10 assists) for a +1 rating. Beach had four goals for the Icehogs this season. Beach will be assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack.

We wish Kyle the best in New York.
