Friday, November 29 @ Chicago Wolves
The IceHogs and bitter rival Wolves faced off for the first game of a home-and-home series. Kent Simpson started in goal for Rockford, but after giving up 3 goals on six shots in the first 10 minutes, he was pulled in favor of Mac Carruth. The ‘Hogs weren’t helping Carruth out much either, as the Wolves went on to score four more, seven straight goals. Terry Broadhurst answered with 3 minutes left, breaking Jake Allen‘s shutout, but the game was long gone. Chicago won convincingly, 7-1. Alex Broadhurst was the only IceHog to go -3 in the loss, while Carruth made 18 saves on 22 shots.
Saturday, November 30 vs. Chicago Wolves
Fresh off an ear lowering, the ‘Hogs and Wolves were back at it the next night, in Rockford. Simpson made the start again, and Kyle Beach got the game going with his first of the year, 21 seconds after the opening faceoff. Joakim Nordstrom and Beach tallied again for a 3-0 IceHogs lead. After Chicago cut into their lead by one, Beach completed the hat-trick, scoring all 3 goals of his season. Beach’s final goal would be the game-winner, as the ‘Hogs gave up two late, but hung on to win 4-3. Beach, Philip Danault, and Simpson were the First, Second, and Third stars, respectively. Simpson made 32 saves for the win, while Danault added an assist and was +2.
Thursday, December 5 @ Charlotte Checkers
The IceHogs concluded the week with their first game of December, and their fifth meeting of the season with Charlotte. Kyle Beach scored early again, this time 1:41 into the first, for a 1-0 Rockford lead. Mark McNeill added another, but Charlotte would get one before the break, 2-1 after 20 minutes. After a scoreless second period, Charlotte tied it up early in the final frame, and the score would remain 2-2 until overtime. In the extra 5 minutes, Brody Sutter delivered the dagger, sealing a 3-2 Charlotte victory. Kent Simpson made 21 saves in his third straight start.

- F Jeremy Morin was loaned to Chicago Blackhawks in the above-mentioned shakeup.
- F Joakim Nordstrom was loaned to Chicago as well as Morin.
