From one young Blackhawk who is starting to find his way to one that is already well-established, Brandon Saad continues to turn heads, all the while leading the Blackhawks’ killer depth. Saad has been thrown into many different scenarios throughout the 2013-14 season, but has most recently landed with the newly returned Andrew Shaw, and aforementioned Jeremy Morin, whom he was on the Blackhawks’ third line with on Sunday. Saad had a great game against the Panthers, recording a high-light reel breakaway goal to go along with an assist. Saad’s eye-opening performance even included going 1-for-1 in the faceoff circle, and was all wrapped up in a season-low ice time total of 11:17. Saad has recorded a shot on goal in every game dating back to November 6th, including 11 multi-shot performances. The 21-year old was +4 on the week, and now is ranked 7th NHL-wide with a plus/minus total of +14 this season.
