What’s on tap for the Chicago Blackhawks This week ( Picture courtesy of Orlandoskyradio.com)
The Chicago Blackhawks have four games on the slate this week with some rematches and a couple first time appearances for the 2013-2014 season. All of these contests will probably be missing Corey Crawford in net after his injury Sunday night.
The week kicks off with a highly anticipated rematch against the Dallas Stars and the new villain Antoine Roussel. Roussel was instrumental in the Stars win last week while the Hawks look for some payback Tuesday night in Dallas.
The Hawks play back to back games twice this week. On Wednesday night the improving Philadelphia Flyers arrive at the United Center and possibly last years Blackhawks backup goalie in Ray Emery. The Flyers fired the staff and now they are playing some good hockey as they head to Chicago for the first time in 2 years.
The Hawks will have a couple days off before they head to Toronto to visit the Maple Leafs. The Leafs penalty kill is atrocious giving up a power play goal in 10 straight games. A weird Toronto stat is they have won all 3 games in which they have given up 50 plus shots.
The Hawks head back home on Sunday night to face the LA Kings for the first time since the Western Conference Finals and Patrick Kane‘s Game 5 OT goal that sent the Kings home and the Blackhawks to the Stanley Cup Finals. This will be a battle of back up goalies with both Crawford and Jonathan Quick out with injury.
Which game are you looking forward to the most this week?
