Jonathan Toews was back to his old self in Week 11, and his stat line shows it. Toews finished the week with 5 points in four games, and held a +1 rating. Toews’ most impressive play was ironically during the Blackhawks’ loss to Toronto. No matter what the score, Toews was constantly pushing back, and trying to elevate the play of his team by leading by example. Toews recorded an assist on the Blackhawks’ final goal of the night, but was -1 in the game. Toews’ great play on the penalty-kill set up Marian Hossa for the first ‘Hawks goal against L.A., in a pure hockey play that only a handful of other NHL players could do. Toews was dynamic, a great leader, and an offensive threat during all four of Chicago’s games this week, making him a no-brainer for the First Star.
The Blackhawks hit the road for a date with the Nashville Predators on Tuesday, before starting a miniature home-stand against the Vancouver Canucks and New Jersey Devils.
