Patrick Kane’s unbelievable play has earned himself consideration for the Hart Trophy as NHL MVP, and his point totals put him on track to be a contender for the Rocket Richard Trophy as the league’s leading scorer. Kane scored a highlight-reel backhand goal against the Predators, his sixth game-winning mark of the season. The 25-year old recorded yet another of his multi-point games this season, with a goal and an assist against the Canucks, as werll as 20:00 of TOI. Kane was also in the goal column against the Devils, picking up his 22nd of the year in the 5-2 victory. Kane now ranks inside the top 10 NHL-wide in Goals (3rd), Assists (6th), Points (2nd), Power-Play Goals (2nd), and Game-Winning Goals (2nd). Kane is 5 points behind Sidney Crosby for the NHL lead in scoring, and goals behind Alex Ovechkin. Kane is also +11 in his last 11 games.


The Blackhawks are back in action on Friday night as they look for revenge against the Colorado Avalanche, before heading to St. Louis for a road match-up against the rival Blues the next day. Chicago finishes off 2013 on Monday night, when the Los Angeles Kings return to the United Center for the second time in two weeks.
