14. Minnesota Wild 20-15-5: The Wild have fallen on hard times. Josh Harding is still out and Zach Parise has just been placed on IR. The Wild have dropped four in a row and are 3-7-0 in their last ten games. Harding could be close to returning which would give the Wild a big boast.

13. Washington Capitals 20-14-4: The Caps are 6-2-2 in their last ten games. This is the “YEAR of OVI” Alex Ovechkin has scored 62 goals in 83 games during the 2013 year. Second place is Patrick Kane with 45 goals in 86 games.

12. Phoenix Coyotes 19-10-8: The Coyotes are 3-3-4 in their last ten games. A big reason is the absence of Captain Shane Doan. Doan has not played since December 4th because of rocky mountain fever. He did skate for 20 minutes this week.

11. Colorado Avalanche 23-11-3: The Avs have been a surprisingly good team this season. The new coaching staff headline by Patrick Roy deserves a lot of credit, however if they are going to go anywhere in the Central Division they have to play with the big boys. The Blackhawks crushed the Avs 7-2 on Friday night. The Avs are 3-4-3 in their last ten games.
