5 San Jose Sharks 24-8-6: The Sharks are 5-4-1 in their last ten games but have won three in a row. The Sharks have a tough six game schedule coming up. They play the red hot Ducks twice, host the Oilers, take on the AVS and finish in Chicago against the Blackhawks. Joe Thornton continues to defy father time with his play this season.

4. St. Louis Blues 25-7-5: One week after getting paid, Alex Steen is on IR with an upper body injury. Despite the Steen injury, the Blues had another big win against the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blues overcame two goal leads twice in the 6-5 shootout win. The Blues continue to play at a high level against the Blackhawks this season.

3. Pittsburgh Penguins 28-11-1: The Penguins are 8-2-0 in their last ten games. Injured forward Evegeni Malkin is getting close to returning from injury. He practiced twice this week without contact. Defenseman Rob Scuderi could be back from his ankle injury as soon as Sunday for the Pens.

2. Chicago Blackhawks 27-7-7: The Blackhawks had been riding high coming into Saturday night’s game with St. Louis Blues. HOWEVER their struggles continued against the Blues. The Blackhawks lost 6-5 in a shootout. Despite the loss, Patrick Kane continues to be a legit Hart Trophy Candidate. He had two points again tonight and is on a 14 game point streak. Patrick Sharp is playing the best hockey of his career notching a hat trick on his birthday Friday. The Blackhawks need to improve play against their own division if they want to repeat as Stanley Cup Champions.

1. Anaheim Ducks 28-7-5: The Ducks are the hottest team in the NHL right now. They are 10-0 in their last ten games. There are three legitimate Hart Trophy in the NHL:

Sidney Crosby

, Patrick Kane, and

Ryan Getzlaf

Bruce Boudreau

liked the fact that early in the season, the Ducks were flying the under the radar. That is no longer the case. They are all over everyone’s radar. They are number 1!! QUACK QUACK QUACK!!!!
