5: Boston Bruins 28-12-2: The Boston Bruins are 6-4-0 in their last ten game and winners of their last two in a row. Dougie Hamilton returned this week from an injury that kept him out ten games.  Tuukka Rask continues his impressive play this season.

4. Pittsburgh Penguins 30-12-1: Sidney Crosby was named the second star in the month of December. Crosby and Peguins are 8-2-0 in their last ten games and dismantled the Rangers on Saturday night. Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang both practiced and could be ready to return this coming week.

3.   St. Louis Blues 29-7-5: The Blues are the hottest team in hockey right now. They have won five games in a row. They are 7-1-2 in their last ten games. The Blues have three members on Team USA: T.J. Oshie, David Backes, and Kevin Shattenkirk. The Blues SuperStar Alex Steen is still on IR with a concussion. The Blues are a deep team but need their Superstar for the long haul.

2. Chicago Blackhawks 29-7-8: The Blackhawks had a great week. Patrick Kane was named to Team USA and the first Star for the Month December. It was Kane’s second consecutive month in a row being named first star. Patrick Sharp notched his second hat trick in 5 days and Antti Raanta was named Co-rookie of the month in December. Did I forget to mention they got back their number one goal tender in Corey Crawford? By the way their first round pick from 2012, Teuvo Teravainen is captain of team Finland in the WJC. Finland happens to be playing in the WJC final tomorrow.
