Andrew Shaw was a force down on the ‘Hawks depth chart this week with great offensive pressure, and carried his physical two-way play throughout the rest of the next seven days. Shaw scored against the Red Wings, capping off a great performance that saw him finish with four shots and three hits. Shaw wouldn’t get on the board in the other two games this week, but was a force throughout, finishing with 10 hits combined, and an even +/- rating. Shaw was the Blackhawks’ most consistent forward in the past seven days, as he could be counted on to provide a gritty shift in the defensive end, and create offense at the other end of the ice as well. The Blackhawks will have to equal the passion put forth by #65 in the coming days to get back on track, winning games.

The Blackhawks kick off Week 18 in Calgary on Tuesday, and follow up the next night with a rubber-match in Vancouver. The ‘Hawks then get two days off, and finish the week with a Saturday night showdown against the San Jose Sharks. The ‘Hawks are on the road until the Olympic break from now on.
