9. Toronto Maple Leafs 30-21-6: The Leafs Phil Kessel rocketed himself up the scoring leader board. Kessel recorded a hat trick this week. Kessel has 30 goals and 31 assists on the season. The leafs are 8-1-1 and have won three in a row. No word on if Nazem Kadri will be traded.

8. Tampa Bay Lightning 32-18-5: The Lightning Ben Bishop continues to be the biggest surprise in the NHL this season. Bishop is 27-7-4 with a 1.97 goals against average with a .933 save percentage. Steven Stamkos is inching his way to getting back on the ice.

7. Boston Bruins 35-16-1: The Bruins continue to keep on winning. The Bruins are 7-2-1 in their last ten games. The Bruins recovered from their worst loss of the season with a 4-0 victory over the Oilers. Chad Johnson is having a great season as the Bruins backup. Johnson is 10-3-0 with a .214 goals against average.

6.  Colorado Avalanche 35-14-5: The Avs are playing for now and locking up players for the future. The Avs signed Semyon Varlamov to a five year 29.5 million dollar extension. Varalmov has turned around his career this season. Varlamov is 28-9-5 with a 2.43 goals against average and a .925 save percentage.
