The Blackhawks have acquired from the New York Islanders Peter Regin and Pierre-Marc Bouchard in exchange for a 2014 4th round pick.  The Islanders are also eating part of the departing players contracts which seems to be the norm in Bowman trades lately!

Bouchard will report to Rockford along with Brandon Pirri. Regin will be reporting to the Blackhawks in Phoenix. Regin has scored 2 goals and 5 assists this year for the Islanders.

The appearance of this trade is that the team isn’t confident in either Michal Handzus or Pirri so they just added more depth in hopes someone will step up! The trade adds depth to the roster in a position that is needed, but the question is will anyone fill the void that seems to never go away at 2nd li ne center?

What do you think of the trade? Will these guys even be regulars after the Olympic break?
