The Michael Kostka era ends on February 23, 2014.  Kostka was claimed off waivers by the Tampa Bay Lightning today and so we say good-bye to Coach Quenneville carrying 8 defenseman for good right?

Kostka’s Blackhawks career ends with 9 games played 2 goals 1 assist +3 and 8 penalty minutes and one of the best Halloween costumes ever dressed as Thor.  I think most people will just miss being able to call him Thor since most fans didn’t really enjoy his play and the waste of a roster spot. It’s almost fitting that Thor goes to a team called the Lightning!

The real question is what is Stan Bowman up to with this move that many thought should have been made in October!

The trade deadline officially becomes unfrozen at midnight tonight eastern time so who knows what will happen on the Blackhawks roster although probably what we see is what we get with the possible addition of Brandon Pirri or Jeremy Morin.

Do you have a favorite memory of Thor, I mean Kostka?
