The Chicago Blackhawks have made a trade and it will not affect the NHL roster.

The Blackhawks send Rockford forward Brad Winchester to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for Brian Connelly.  Connelly has been playing for the Iowa Wild this season while appearing in 50 games has scored 5 goals and collected 27 assists.  Connelly will report right to the red hot Rockford Ice Hogs.

Winchester has 16 goals and 14 assists on the season with the Ice Hogs and will report to Iowa.

It will be a coming home for Connelly who has previously played for Rockford from 2009-2012. The Ice Hogs were forward heavy and this move will help free up playing time with one less forward on the roster.

Another minor deal for the Blackhawks organization which will more than likely be making more of these types of deals between now and March 5th’s trade deadline.
