5.  Chicago Blackhawks 36-12-4: The Blackhawks played in a snowy and cold Stadium Series game against the Penguins Saturday night. They dominated the Pens 5-1. Jonathan Toews showed why he is among the NHL elite with two goals. The Blackhawks did suffer a loss in Marian Hossa. Hossa is expected to miss some time with an upper body injury. The Blackhawks still have a HOLE at second line center despite adding Peter Regin. I expect the Blackhawks to deal Brandon Pirri for a second line center.

Trade Deadline Status: BUYER

4. San Jose Sharks 38-17-6: Last season the Sharks were sellers at the trade deadline, yet still made the playoffs. The Sharks could be strategic sellers this year. They could be looking to move Dan Boyle for some younger players.

Trade Deadline Status: BUYER and Strategic SELLER

3. Pittsburgh Penguins  40-16-4: The Pens played in the last Stadium series game against the Blackhawks on Saturday. The Pens got crushed 5-1, they were outshot for most of the game. The Pens are looking to add some forward depth and have been linked to Ales Hemsky of the Oilers. The Pens are also very interested in Ryan Kesler as well.

Trade Deadline Status: BUYER

2.   St. Louis Blues 39-14-6: The Blues made the first splash in March with a huge trade. The Blues acquired Ryan Miller and Steve Ott for Jaroslav Halak, Chris Stewart, William Carrier a prospect and two draft picks. This move could put the Blues over the top. Miller is an ELITE goal tender who can be lights out in a seven game series. With a poor Sabres team in front of him, Miller has a 92.3% save percentage and a 2.72 goals against average. The Sabres are not a strong defensive team like the Blues. Miller’s numbers will dramatically improve with the Blues. Could this move put the Blues over the top?

Trade Deadline Status: ALREADY DONE

1.Anaheim Ducks 42-14-5: The Ducks have been the NHL leader in points all season long. The Ducks have a wealth of goalies in their systems. The main rumor with the Ducks is that Viktor Fasth could be traded to free up some money for the Ducks. Jonas Hiller will not be traded despite being a free agent after this season.

Trade Deadline Status: BUYER and Strategic SELLER
