The Blackhawks have traded Brandon Pirri to the Florida Panthers for a couple of draft picks.  This is not how it was suppose to happen at the beginning of the season.  An early injury and the loss of faith by Coach Quenneville cost him a real shot at the 2nd line center.

The Hawks pick up a 3rd round pick this year and a 5th in 2015.

Pirri appeared in 28 games this season in Chicago scoring 6 goals and 5 assists, but he wasn’t considered defensively strong and not a complete player for 200 feet which made him on the constant waiver dance between Chicago and Rockford. Pirri seemed to have some chemistry with Patrick Kane but now he’s off to Florida to play with all the other cast off Rockford/Chicago players that Dale Tallon has assembled.

I guess anyone that can’t make the Blackhawks heads to the Florida Panthers? The Blackhawks have now traded twice with the Florida Panthers this season first was the Kris Versteeg trade that send Dylan Olsen and Jimmy Hayes to South Florida, and now Brandon Pirri heads to South Florida.

Pirri not only leaves Chicago he also leaves Rockford where he is the all-time point leader with 200 career points with the Ice Hogs. His trade will certainly hurt their playoff push.

What do you think of this trade? Good Luck Pirri!
