Did The Blackhawks Get Enough In Return For Brandon Pirri?

The Blackhawks received a 3rd round pick in 2014 and a 5th round pick in 2016 for Brandon Pirri from the Florida Panthers Sunday night.  Pirri scored 200 points in Rockford and is the all time point scorer there while scoring 6 goals and 5 assists in Chicago.

Pirri didn’t get a real shot in Chicago, but as a 2nd line center he didn’t have a 200 foot game which made Quenneville sour on him pretty quickly well if you consider in less than one season in Chicago a quick sour note, than yes the coaching staff did sour on him pretty quickly.

The question probably wasn’t if but when Pirri would no longer be in the Blackhawks organization.  Pirri has 28 games under his belt in the NHL and has an AHL Scoring title and All-Star MVP so he should get a very long look when he takes his talents to South Florida.

The real question is did the Blackhawks get enough for Pirri with just two mid round draft picks, and even though the Hawks GM Stan Bowman said he wasn’t focused on the trade deadline will this move set up another move before March 5th trade deadline. A silver lining is the fact that the Hawks got the same package for Michael Frolik that they received for Pirri.
