The Blackhawks schedule doesn’t get any easier in the coming weeks, but one potential cupcake on the schedule comes Sunday night when the Blackhawks visit Patrick Kane’s hometown team the Buffalo Sabres.

Joel Quenneville is an old school kind of coach and when something starts rolling he isn’t big on change so the goalie situation could be a topic for the Blackhawks heading to the playoffs. Last season Crawford 28 games with Ray Emery starting 19 games which gave the Hawks a nice tandem and kept Crawford fresh for the playoff run.

This year Antti Raanta stepped in nicely for Crawford when he was out with injury going 12-2-3 so far this season, but with a healthy Crawford around Raanta hasn’t been seeing much action between the pipes.

I’m not calling for Raanta to be the starter on a nightly basis, but I would like to see him get some action on some sort of regular basis during the regular season so that heaven forbid Crawford does get hurt Raanta isn’t full of month old rust when the Hawks need stability in the net the most.

So here comes Sunday night and the Buffalo Sabres a night one would think should be a night off for Crawford and game to sneak in Raanta.  Please vote here for who you think should start Sunday night.
