On this date in Chicago Blackhawks history,

On March 8, 2013 the Chicago Blackhawks faced the Colorado Avalanche in Denver at the Pepsi Center and the home crowd saw a victory from their home team and an NHL record come to an end all in one night.

The game didn’t start all that bad for the Blackhawks with one of the prettier goals you will see! It was such a good goal I decided to share it with you.

The Blackhawks wouldn’t score again until the third period when Bickell scored but the damage was already done with the Avs scoring 5 unanswered goals including 4 in the second period when Crawford looked uncomfortable for one of the few times all season.

The streak naturally had to come to an end but the 21-0-3 was an unexpected start but a pleasant surprise after the NHL Lockout that still really doesn’t make much sense with the contracts that are being handed out to fourth line guys throughout the NHL.

The streak was just an appetizer to one of the greatest seasons in Chicago Blackhawks history.  Everyone expected the Hawks to be a very good team, but no one expected a 24 game point streak to start the season, a President’s trophy and a 16-7 run through the playoffs to win the franchises 5th Stanley Cup, which included and epic comeback against the Detroit Red Wings down 3-1.

It all started with the streak and that streak came to an end on this day one year ago today!

What was your favorite memory from the Streak?
